HIV: Although usually the skin eruptions occurring with acute HIV disease do not itch, it may also occur in association with itching. If you think you have been exposed, please go and get tested and stop trying to make the diagnosis by clinical symptoms. There is nothing specific enough to either diagnose it or exclude it..

Not usually: I agree. Although I have seen a number of patients whose itchy rash was eventually their seroconversion reaction. I think about it with each "itchy rash" patient i see.

Living with HIV: Not sure what you mean by an HIV rash. Rashes are not common with HIV infection. But, rashes during the early days of being on HIV medications are common and these drug induced rashes are very itchy.

Yes.: Whether caused by an HIV medication or by HIV itself, HIV rashes commonly appear as red areas on the skin, often covered with small red bumps. The main symptom of the rash is itchiness. Hiv related rashes can happen on any part of ther body, but most often occur on the face and chest, and sometimes on the feet and hands. These rashes can also be seen in association with mouth ulcers.
