Maybe: Patients with 5 or more soft drusen in either eye are considered to have "intermediate" amd (age related macular degeneration) and these patients and some more advanced amd benefit from being on areds vitamins (see the nei.Gov website). These includes caretenoids astaxanthin. This has not been definitively shown to delay amd or any other ye disease.

Possible: This is an antioxident supplement, but once damage is done it probably wont help. On the other hand if you dont hve side effects it cannot hurt to try.
