A member asked:

Dry macular degeneration: is there a prescription for various strengths for the use of macuhealth with lmz3? or, is it always an otc vitamin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The AREDS2 formula: has been found to be very effective in slowing the natural progression of "dry" or non-exudative macular degeneration. The formula used in the study was made by B&L and is marketed to the public as Preservision AREDS2. Other studies have been very specific about their effect on the fovea or macula, including high quality Lutein,, Zeaxanthin and pharmaceutical grade Omega-3 to name a few.
