i have had an itchy scalp for a month. more around the nape of head. no lice. i also have small red bumps that are tender to touch. what could or be?

Get checked out: Sounds like you may have folliculitis (an inflammation / infection of the hair follicles) or seborrheic dermatitis. See a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Both conditions respond well to treatment.
