Yes: Ondansetron was originally approved to treat chemotherapy induced nausea. It was subsequently found to be very effective in treating and preventing surgery associated nausea. No agent is 100% effective, but ondansetron does a good job, with relatively few side effects compared to other anti-nausea medications.
