Gas formation: Gas formation. Clinically, you may hear crackling when palpating the soft tissues/skin of a patient with gas gangrene.

Gangrene: Gas gangrene is clostridium infection necrotizing fasciitis is an infection with strep MRSA and often some pseudomonas or combo these can cultured to identify the organism the gas can be seen on x-ray and felt the necrotizing is often call flesh eating disease.
