Please advise what is the difference between necrotizing fasciitis and necrotizing soft tissue infection?

Same essentially: Both are deep soft tissue infections that require surgical removal of infected tissue.NF extends into muscle layers and the fascia that surrounds them. Perirectal abscess, an infection involving the buttocks and rectal area, is a necrotizing soft tissue infection that is not fasciitis. Requires surgery and sometimes a colostomy.
