Transplant center: Contact the transplant centers in the hospitals that do transplants. There is usually a coordinator who guides you through the process. The nephrologist in your area can identify what hospitals are doing transplants in your area.

Kidney transplant: If you are only dialysis, speak to your nephrologist (n) and social worker (s) at your dialysis center and they will assist you. If not, speak to a regional transplant center(s) in your area. They will give you the idea of what it will cost. In the u. S. Most, if not all, insurance plans cover it. Your wait for a transplant will be shorter if you have a living related donor to give you a kidney.

Depends: There are > 250 active kidney transplant programs in the U.S. Most kidney transplants are covered by health insurance. For patients outside of the U.S. healthcare system, it depends on which country you live in and what type of health insurance system you have.

"Free" all over USA: If you need a transplant due to irreversible kidney failure, there are centers all over USA that can evaluate you and do transplants if needed. All results for all centers are on internet - http://www.srtr.org/ . If you have insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and health exchange insurance) will cover costs of donor and recipient almost always near 100%.
