About

Bio

I have been in practice for 40 years taking care of patients with serious medical problems including hypertension, autoimmune disease, organ failure and transplantation, kidney and cardiac disease. Although not a cancer doctor I have personal experience with dealing with cancer and its complications and have consulted on many patients with medical problems from cancer. My specialties based on my formal training include internal medicine (adult medical care), kidney disease (nephrology), high blood pressure (hypertension), organ failure and replacement ( organ transplantation). Many visitors to Healthtap ask questions about sex - problems with sexual functioning and their causes, treatment of these problems, and how sexual issues are affected by medical problems. I want to try and help in this area as well because it is often ignored by patients and doctors due to discomfort with discussing the issue. Virtual visits may be more successful in dealing sex topics and questions. My goal at HealthTap is to help patients get the care they need and avoid the care that is not indicated and is more risky than beneficial. Consultations will include individual history and evaluation of specific patient problems with review of current standard of care based on scientific evidence and expert reviews and guidelines. Literature reviews can be performed in certain cases. All this information will be summarized for you with your questions addressed so you can go to your current caregivers to have a more educated discussion and to help make better decisions about your care for the medical problems discussed and reviewed. After 43 years I have ceased my patient practice and will be focusing solely on virtual internet consults here at HealthTap providing help as described above. I will not be able to provide usual patient visits, but will act as an ongoing virtual consultant if you wish.

Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.
