Maybe: Sometimes if there is an acute rise of psa it may be related to prostatitis (inflammation/infection) and your urologist may suggest an antibiotic and then repeating your psa in a few weeks. If psa still elevated and you have a discussion with your urologist/pcp you may need a biopsy. Good luck!

Yes: Need investigation for elevated psa from 2 to 9 , if it is not infection related may need biopsy , see a urologist for evaluation and treatment.
