A member asked:

Good afternoon doctors. in 2020, my psa was 1.2. yesterday, two years later in 2022, it is 1.32..psa was not checked in 2021. is this considered a big increase in the psa? is it still normal range?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the change in PSA levels is not meaningful. Wish you good health!

Some variation in PSA occurs normally and this is not excessive. If you have no family history of prostate or breast cancer and the rectal exam by a Urologist is normal- you can repeat the test in 6 months,
