Probably not: The nodule may cause the hyperthyroidism if it is an overactive nodule.

Probably not: Thyroid nodules are very common. Hyperthyroidism can occur with multiple nodules, but nodules should be assessed and evaluated separate from hyperthyroidism. However, if you have a nodule and hyperthyroidism a i-123 uptake and scan nuclear medicine test may be indicated to evaluate whether the nodule you have is causing your hyperthyroidism.
