Dead Skin Cells??: That stripe, does it disappear after you brush your tongue? Do you have any medications that you are taking? Do you drink water during the day? There are many reasons to have a discoloration on your tongue, however the most common reason i see tongue issues is the build up of dead skin cells exfoliating from the top of the tongue. Check if you have proper hydration, brush your tongue and monitor.

Fungal...: Infections can cause what is called median rhomboid glossitis. This is one possibility. I would advise visiting your local dentist to find out what it is.
