A member asked:

I have a cavity. why does it only hurt at night?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No other distraction: The most likely reason is that during the day you have many different things to distract you, so you do not notice the discomfort from the tooth. At night you have less to focus on so the tooth becomes more noticeable. If you allow this cavity to get larger it will start to hurt during the day as well. Get to your dentist asap and get it fixed. Please don't wait.
