Shouldn't: When fixing cavities the dentist will typically use a local anesthetic prior to the procedure, if adequate anesthesia is obtained you should not feel pain. In addition to local anesthetic many practices use nitrous oxide a an adjunct allowing patients to relax during the procedure.
