Does it if you are hurt and getting cavities fixed!?

Mostly Not: The real pain is not getting them fixed and letting the bacteria kill the nerve.

Shouldn't: When fixing cavities the dentist will typically use a local anesthetic prior to the procedure, if adequate anesthesia is obtained you should not feel pain. In addition to local anesthetic many practices use nitrous oxide a an adjunct allowing patients to relax during the procedure.
