A member asked:

Cd4 count dropped from 485 to 198. i have been on arvs for 2yrs. what are the chances of recovery? how do i raise it quicker? how long will it take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HIV: This means your arv is not working well. Either you are not compliant or the virus has mutated and become resistant. This needs to be discussed with your doc. Getting a therapy that is able to suppress the virus is the only way to raise your CD4 count. Will it ever go back to what it was even on perfect therapy - that's debatable, but possible.
