Involves eyelid edge: Take a clean washcloth and wet it in very warm water and place it over the closed eyelids for 5 minutes. Place the warm, wet washcloth over the index finger and apply a diluted solution of 50% baby shampoo. Clean one eye at a time, closing the eye you are cleaning, and rubbing the washcloth or your finger over the eyelashes and lid margins several times using horizontal strokes. Rinse thoroughly.

Blepharitis: Blepharitis, sometimes referred to as dandruff of the eyelashes. I have many patient that have problems with baby shampoo scrubs. I recommend ocusoft lid scrubs. If this does not take care of it, then you may need an antibiotic and possibly steroid drop or combination to treat the condition. Oral omega 3's can help the health of the eyelid margin as well.
