Since its more uncommon to have rls in your arms does that mean there is prob. more going on and maybe warrant having a sleep study done?

RLS: It can happen in arms also. Check iron and ferritin levels and do sleep study to rule out pmld.

Not necessarily: Rls is better thought of as "restless limb syndrome" in that it can affect both upper and lower extremities (though lower is much more common). It is a clinical diagnosis, and as such a sleep study is not indicated to evaluate/diagnose rls. If there are concerns for other sleep disorders (e.g. Sleep apnea) then a sleep study would be indicated.
