Probably ok: What you describe does not sound like a cancer, but the best way to know is to get the area evaluated by a dermatologist. A melanoma would have likely extended into the deeper tissues so you would not have been able to scrape it off.

Do not worry: If the mole was something bad, it would have come back by now, especially that it was not properly excised. Given the size of this mole, it was most likely benign.

Mole vs melanoma: Did you have concerns this was a melanoma? If so, why did you not seek care sooner? I think it is unlikely that you could accidentally scrape a melanoma off your skin surface. Even a melanoma in situ has pigment cells below the skin surface. If you provide a detailed description of the size, shape, and appearance of the lesion i'm sure your doctor can give you an idea if you should be concerned.
