Clonidine does both: Clonidine can cause both. You also have CHF that can cause swelling. Please do not make any med changes without input from your family doctor or cardiologist. Best wishes to you!

Swelling: Ankles can be swollen from many different factors like high blood pressure, venous problems, aterey issues, alcohol and salt intake. See your pcp and may need a doppler run.
