See physiatrist: A physiatrist can evaluate you to see if your symptoms match your MRI (most people that have bulging discs do not have symptoms). If they are causing your pain, treatment starts with physical therapy to decrease pain and improve core strength and a short course of anti- inflammatories. Injections, acupuncture and medications for nerve pain, may be helpful. If bowel/bladder stops, need surgery-rare.
