Same as metal: Ceramic braces are removed by an instrument designed to 'pop' the cement seal of the bracket and the orthodontic cement. It is not painful, but you will feel some pressure when it is done. Most people do not experience any soreness afterwards, but if your hygiene was not great during treatment, your teeth may be sensitive after removal.

Braces: All braces are removed the same way. There is a special instrument designed to remove them/pop them off quickly and without discomfort.

Let's be honest: Some ceramic braces utilize chemical bonding as well as mechanical and are the dickens to remove, special tool or not, i'm old enough to remember the unitek debacle, whereby a wrench was given to remove the brace (and fractured a few teeth while doing so). Metal braces are still in general much easier to remove. Some ceramics must "ground" off.

Should not: Ceramic braces these days are removed very similarly as stainless steel brackets are removed. Should not be painful nor make your teeth sore.

Not a painful proces: As with most dental/orthodontic procedures, there are special instruments created to effect the desired outcome. There are special pliers designed to remove ceramic brackets without undue discomfort or trauma to the tooth.

No pain: Having any braces removed is not a painful process. A special plier is used to pop off the brackets from the teeth...It makes a slightly loud sound, and has a pretty weird feeling, but there is no pain. The residual cement is then polished off...

Removing Braces: Ceramic braces are removed by breaking the bond between the bracket and your teeth. This is done with special instruments and the remaining bonding cement is gently removed with fine sandpaper discs to leave your teeth smooth & polished. It should be done by a dental professional.

Thanks for asking!: Ceramic braces come off very easily now a days with new instruments available to your orthodontist. There will be minimal pressure placed on the teeth so discomfort is limited. Your teeth usually will not get sore following removal of the braces.
