Have patience: The body will naturally start to produce milk when the time is ready and you give birth. Just keep eating a healthy diet when pregnant and your body should naturally take over and do the rest. Best wishes and congratulations on your pregnancy.

Fluids and sucking!: I think you will find that the two most important things in successful nursing are plenty of fluid and nutrition - and plenty of sucking from your baby! you need 500 calories a day beyond your usual caloric requirement to make milk for your baby. There's much in the way of support out there. Ask your doctor to refer you to a lactation consultant if you have difficulty. Good luck. Lgromkomd.

Breastfeeding: First of all, chill out. Have your OB ensure your nipples are right. Secondly, get educated. Postnatally, nurse your baby frequently to give all your colostrum and to increase your milk production. Your baby will lose weight naturally but don't worry as he will gain that weight back in a week. Learn the right latch for successful nursing. Relax and you'll be on your way to perfect breastfeeding.
