Hi my 1 yrs daughter has small pda n pulmonary stenosis n she is failure to thrive as well since birth is this heart things cause baby not to gain weight normal or delay putting on weight she is only breastfeeding refuse to take a bottle or any milk?

Failure to take adequate nutrition for growth is more likely the cause of poor growth in a 1 yo than the heart defect cited. Consult a breastfeeding coach and a clinical nutritionist to improve feeding/calorie intake. Coordinate all efforts with the kids doc.

Supplemental formula for infants not gaining weight is recommended and consultations with nutrition and GI may be considered. If there are signs of diarrhea, vomiting, trouble breathing and sweating, please see acute care. A flu vaccine is recommended and discuss Synagis with your physician. Please follow up with your Cardiologist, since her underlying cardiac condition may cause failure to thrive
