My sister gave birth 20 days ago. she does not have enough milk to feed her baby. she says that she has pain at the nipple site. she approaches a doctor who prescribes some vitamin supplements. how can she improve breastfeeding and relieve from pain?

There are simple lanolin creams that help the pain. A basic approach is to limit feeds to 5 min/side (80% extracted) and go 2 hrs between feeds. This improves milk production and decreases breast overuse from extended feeding. Try it for a week & the production should be up and the discomfort diminished.

Lots of hydration for milk supply. Warmth to nipples, lubricate with Vaseline, and limit feeds to 10-15 min to avoid irritation
