Depends: Many hip injections are done for bursitis (greater trochanteric bursitis - the side of the hip) - these injections are superfical, outside of the joint, and would be highly unlikely to cause infection of a hip replacement. However, if you have had an actual injection into the joint itself, then there is certainly the possibility of an infection occurring, however chances are still low.
