Yes: In general children and adolescents do heal faster than adults but sesamoid can be difficult to get healed even with 6-8 weeks of immobilization. Knowing this, I have a low threshold to get my patients with sesamoid fractures a bone stimulator (typically the main problem is getting insurance companies to approve it as they want 3 monthly x-rays showing no progression of healing)
