Is it normal to have loose bowels after having a hysterectomy ?

It can be: After a hysterectomy it is common to have temporary changes in bowel habits. Pain meds can cause constipation, stool softeners can cause diarrhea, eating differently can upset the intestines, stress can cause loose stools. Usually over time and getting back to usual eating and exercise the intestines go back to your normal. If bad diarrhea and increase in pain or fever see your doc.
