Probably: This is surgeon dependent but you can probably have it using topical anesthesia. Of course, you will be at much greater risk of the white part if your eye turning red--nothing more than the eye equivalent of a bruise. Looks bad but will go away. If you can stop it temporarily and it's ok'd by your pcp or cardiologist, that's even better!
