I would be curious: If you had any back pain this sounds like a radiculopathy or spinal stenosis type of problem.....

Burning can be cause: Burning sensation could be caused by nerve stimulation or neuropathy. Commonly occurs with diabetes or lower back problems. Sometimes it may be due to circulation problems. I would see your foot doctor for evaluation.
