Probably CRPS: what you describe as the cause could very well have resulted in Complex Regional Pain syndrome type 1 - please go and see a Pain Physician in your area - the ER usually does not know this condition.

Follow up : Certainly would want to follow up with orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation. Ct scan likely indicated to rule out occult fracture; other possible causes as well.

Foot Pain: See a podiatrist first. An MRI or CAT scan will help to make a more positive diagnosis. Pain management will treat the pain but not the cause of the pain
