Yes: Question is the cause of the testicular infection? Choice of antibiotics is based on the isolation of an organism and assessment of antibiotics going to be effective. If no organism can be isolated, or if necessary to treat before culture results are available, then empirical therapy is based on the most likely causes and which drugs may be effective. Doxycycline is not an unreasonable choice.
