May not be necessary: Sinus infections are overwhelmingly viral and usually only require supportive care with over the counter medications, nasal steroid spray, or saline nasal spray. Antibiotics are usually only necessary for prolonged symptoms (greater than 2 weeks), severe infections including those with high fever, or if you get better and then sick again.
