Aloe Vera: Aloe vera has been shown to decrease hyperpigmentation, the darkening of the skin. This should help by making skin tone more even.

See plastic surgeon : Home remedies do not work. If your scarring is bothersome you should consult with a good plastic surgeon. Scar revisions, lasers and derm abrasion can all help improve poor acne scars. Dr samuel sohn in las vegas is outstanding and board certified. Good luck.

There are none: Even a dermatologist can't remove the scars, but can make them less visible using a laser, filler, microsurgery or dermabrasion. I'm really sorry that you were not treated effectively for your acne when you should have been, especially if your parents insisted on "natural" / "pop" remedies instead of treatment that would have worked. This is the 21st century and i hope you'll accept its benefits.

A 26-year-old member asked:

I am now 28 weeks pregnant and I had some bleeding, and the placenta is stuck over the scar. What does this mean?

Placenta accreta: It sounds like placenta accreta. Women who have had a c/s or other previous uterine surgery are at increased risk for the placenta growing into the uterine muscle layer if it implants over the scar. Most women don't get bleeding from this during pregnancy. The main risks of an accreta are heavy bleeding at the time of delivery of the placenta or inability to deliver it, requiring a hysterectomy.

Either: Either may help with symptoms. Hydrocortisone cream which is available over-the-counter may both relieve the symptoms and help get rid of the rash. Antihistamines like claritin, zyrtec and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) will also help for both.

How long does it take retin-a micro to clear acne scars?

See below: Retin-a mirco does not treat acne scarring. It can help prevent new acne scars by preventing serious breakout as part of an acne treatment regimen. Some patients (especially those with darker skin tones) can develop dark spots from acne lesions. These are not actually scars and Retin-A can help improve them over the course of many months.

A doctor can help: For treatment of acne, over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide gel/cream is quite helpful. If desired, a doctor can add an antibiotic gel/cream such as Cleocin (clindamycin phosphate) gel. If more help is needed, prescription retinoids such as Retin-A or differin gel can be used instead of benzoyl peroxide. Oral antibiotics such as tetracycline can be used also. If acne is quite severe, a dermatologist might use oral accutane.
