Not a good idea: There is specific indications that will make it ok for disc replacement. Osteoporosis will significantly increase chance of failure of fixation of the disc replacement which is usually either a keel, or screw, or components that rely on bony ingrowth. There are much better treatment options than disc replacement in this patient population. Ask you spine surgeon.
