Persistent fever: Persistent fever can come from several causes. It can be the signal of a hidden infection, a malignant condition, or side effect of some medications ..... Please see your doctor for evaluation. You shouldn't ignore persistent fever.

Fever: A fever is defined as temperature > 100.4. If your mother has fever for this long of time and given your mother extensive medical history, i'm sure this has been looked into to assure no underlying malignancy (recurrent or new). Please discuss with your oncologist or infectious disease doctor.
