Is it bad to be on minocycline long term? it's for rosacea.

Well tolerated: Well tolerated for long periods, especially at the very small dose used for rosacea, 50mg or less. Discuss topical therapy with your dermatologist. If you have ocular rosacea you will want to continue oral therapy.

No : Long term antibiotics are not desirable but rosacea being a chronic problem has been associated with a skin mite causing a chronic infection living in the skin thus the use of antibiotics. Pregnancy is a contraindication to minocycylin due to bone / tooth deformithy.
