Hematologist: The yellow eyes are a result of the breakdown products of the ruptured blood cells. It is important to determine the cause of the blood problem, so she needs to follow-up promptly with the specialist, presumably a hematologist.

Hemolytic jaundice: Your daughter has had an ongoing excessive hemolysis (destruction of red blood cell) which produces excess yellow pigment (bilirubin). There are a number of conditions including hemoglobin defects. Have her checked by her pediatrician.

See your doctor...: There are many causes of hemolysis, both intrinsic and extrinsic.. Intrinsic causes are generally divided into hemoglobinopathies, enzymopathies and membranopathies, where red cell destruction is favored by the given abnormality and can be exacerbated by many and varied triggers. Extrinsic causes are often immune-mediated or mechanical. Treatments vary depending on cause. May see a hematologist.
