Discharge: Your son may have conjunctivitis or pink eye. See a doctor so he can get a prescription.

See ophthalmologist: I would see an ophthalmologist. This sounds like an infection which would be treated with antibiotics. In a 4 month old this could be due to a blocked tear duct.

Lacrimal obstruction: May be simple eye infection in need of antibiotic drops/ointment rx by your local ophthalmologist. If you baby has tearing since birth, look for nasal lacrimal duct obstruction with an oculoplastic surgeon.
