Thyroid scan: I use it for hyperthyroidism diagnosis. Not sure the rationale for this test in your case. If you are on thyroid supplement and your T4 is high, i would lower it and recheck in 6 weeks. If normal, i'd not do the scan. I cannot comment on your doc's decision since i don't know the full story.
