Root canal dressing: If the root canal was completed, this should not cause any discomfort other than food impaction. It's possible that most of the temporary filling is still in the tooth and only the top layer has worn down. Keep the area as clean as possible. Place some cotton to keep food out, or check at the pharmacy for temporary filling material.
