What happens if we don't do root canal treatment in the age of 6, ?

A few thoughts....: Failure to treat your child properly can result in an infection, loss of the tooth, damage to his/her permanent tooth, and a preventable malocclusion. A six year old is not expected to take care of themselves, but his/her guardians/parents are required to. If the child needs therapy, so be it. Avoidance can only result in being accused of child neglect.

See a pedodontist: Pedodontist is the pediatrician of dentistry. He/she has two to three years specialty training following dental school and limits his/her practice to treating children only. The "baby,” teeth is important for the child development, oral and general health. Get the best care possible.

If: Failure to treat an infected baby tooth can cause damage to adjacent teeth and underlying permanent tooth, bone, and gums. Tho other choice may be extraction AND space maintainer. Failure to do root canal treatment or extraction/space maintainer will do permanent harm to your child. IF you had a virulent infection anywhere in your body would you let it go untreated? I doubt it.
