Not serious: A swollen lid from poison ivy is, in general, uncomfortable but not serious. You need to see your ophthalmologist to ensure is it not infected, and to potentially prescribe anti-inflammatory medication to help the episode resolve faster, or antibiotics if there is suspicion of infection.

See your doctor: See your doctor asap. You need to be examined to make sure there is none inside the eye. Also with it swollen shut you are susceptible to a superimposed bacterial infection. You may need a shot of steroids and oral steroids prescribed by a doctor and possibly eye drops.
