Penicillin: Amoxil (amoxicillin) is a penicillin and when it gets into the body fluids it has a metallic musty smell...It is possible that is also affecting your ear discharge. You can irrigate your ear with 50-50 solution of water and peroxide and flush out the debris and hopefully the smell with it.

See your doctor: If you have foul discharge from your ear, you either have had a middle ear infection that has ruptured your eardrum or you have an external ear infection. Either way, you need an ear exam and probable eardrops in addition to your oral antibiotics.
