Need Exam: This could be a salivary duct blockage, which is easily treatable. It also could be many more things, some of which are not fun. If you are unhappy with the examination given by your current dentist, get another opinion. If you are happy where you are, go back and allow them to re-evaluate the issue. Things change, especially with drugs, so an exam is really needed here. Don't delay!

See a Specialist: If you have a persistent "lump" which does not respond to antibiotics, you should get a definitive diagnosis. Most "lumps" within the mouth are not harmful, but some can be very serious and life-threatening. Don't you want to make sure you know exactly what's going on? You should see a specialist, and perhaps even get a biopsy done. So, ideally an oral surgeon or an ent. Don't wait.
