Family Physician: Nope. Not in any way is going to the er the appropriate place for someone with well known mental health issues. You want someone who knows you, knows your history, someone you have a relationship with. The er is for life threatening problems. It is not for the management of known problems. You need to use your trusted regular family doctor or psychiatrist.
