Thorough exam by doc: Determining physical and emotional symptoms - an accurate clinical history - is imperative. Weight gain, dry skin, constipation, slowed thinking, depression, easy fatigue, and anxiety can all be symptoms of low thyroid. Hyperthyroidism features anxiety, insomnia, depression, hypomania, diarrhea, tremor, racing thoughts, irritability, and rapid heart rate. Blood tests (TSH) are very accurate.

Med & blood eval: The best way to confirm a thyroid issue is a medical evaluation and a blood test. If symptoms of panic , anxiety and stress existed over 10 years, chances are there are psychological issues although an additional thyroid condition is possible.
