A member asked:

I'm a 29 y/o female. i have 6+ complex cysts on my thyroid - the largest is 1.1cm with a hypoechoic mass. all others are colloid. should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need to follow it: The likelihood of cancer is still quite low. A lot depends on the characteristics of the cysts/nodules. If there are worrisome characteristics, surgery is indicated. It is important that the cysts/nodules be followed by someone who knows what to look for. Often an endocrinologist with ultrasound experience is better at this than a radiologist.
