Pediatric center: Nodules are not the same as cysts. Patients with hashimoto's thyroiditis can have multiple small nodules. Sometimes it's just best to have these studies interpreted by thyroid-specialized radiologists. You could start by seeing a pediatric endocrinologist who will most likely want the ultrasound repeated in another facility more specialized.
