Chronic only : Means that it is not "acute". So yes, pain can come and go. But most doctors don't believe that this entity exists, but "chronic" means repeated bouts of "acute" appendicitis. Other possibilities, such as crohn's ileitis, must be considered. Consult a GI specialist.
